Summary[edit]

Description
English: Sir James Murray's house Sunnyside, 78 Banbury Road, is the house to which Sir James Murray moved in 1885 when he was already deep into his life's work: the compilation of the Oxford English Dictionary based upon words and quotations sent in by countless contributors. In his Scriptorium in the garden he collated millions of paper slips in a system of pigeon holes, helped by assistants and his own family.

He lived in the house until he died in 1915, laden with honours.
