Description
English: Heligholmen is an islet and bird sanctuary just of the coast of the island of Gotland in Sweden. The area is a nature reserve called Holmhällar and is famous for the karstic rock formations called rauks. The shallow channel in the photo is known for strong currents which explains the breaking waves. The wind driven pack ice blocks the channel eventually.
