Summary[edit]

Description

If a Black Skimmer is skimming over water that isn't smooth its beak may go too deep into the water. If that happens, the beak and head are stopped by the water resistance and the rest of the body keeps moving. The Skimmer's head ends up below its body. The Skimmer then pulls its head back up and continues skimming. This photo shows the moment the head is below the body facing behind the Skimmer.

Those that follow me may remember this occurs in Dip-Fishing - photo in first comment.
