Description

c/n PFA 1568 Built 1976 This fascinating machine was originally built in 1952 as a Cadet TX.3 glider for the Royal Air Force, with the military serial XA297 and the c/n 839. Written off in a flying accident at Turnhouse, Edinburgh, on 29th March 1959, she was later rebuilt as a powered motor glider with the c/n PFA 1568 and was civil registered as G-BCYH in March 1975. She currently wears not only her civil registration G-BCYH, but also her old military serial ‘XA297’, her c/n ‘PFA 1568’ her RAF Glidiing & Soaring Association identity ‘RAFGSA 246’ and her British Gliding Association identity ‘BGA 1158’. She is seen departing from the Shuttleworth Collection’s ‘Flying for Fun’ evening airshow Old Warden, Bedfordshire, UK
