500px provided description: Pieris rapae (Linnaeus, 1758), aka the small white, is butterfly species of the Pieridae family. It is widespread across Europe, North and South Africa, and Asia. In appearance, it looks like a smaller version of Pieris brassicae (aka the large white), but it can be distinguished by the white color with small black dots on its wings, the smaller size and lack of the black band at the tip of their forewings.

I have taken this shot a few weeks ago, after a very stressful day. An afternoon walk in nature with my camera was all I needed to relax.

For those interested in the technical details, this is a single RAW shot, taken with Nikon D750 and Nikon 105mm f/2.8 VR, 1/200 seconds exposure, f/11 and ISO 100. Normally I use a diffused flash for my macro photography, but for this one there was a very smooth light from the sun that was setting, coming diagonally to the stalk that the butterfly was resting, so there was no need. Other than cropping the image into 1:1, the post-processing was very basic.
