Summary[edit]

Description
English: Soham railway station, Cambridgeshire
Opened in 1879 by the Great Eastern Railway on the line from Ipswich to Ely, this station with two parallel platforms was largely demolished in 1944 when an ammunition train caught fire and exploded. It was reopened, serving passengers until 1965 when it was closed. The line was singled in 1980. A new £18m (seriously?!) platform and footbridge was built, and the station reopened in 2021. View north towards Ely from the footbridge.
