South Vietnamese children scavenge food tins

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Vietnam. 1966. In Vietnam it was the practice of Australian troops to crush and bury all food tins so they would not be used by the Viet Cong to manufacture crude booby traps. Private Chris Lowry of Adelaide, SA, a member of the Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) Squadron, scratches his head in vexation as the tins he had just buried were dug up by these village children who were looking for food scraps.
