Summary[edit]

Description
English: Ideju za podizanje spomenika dala je Srpska književna zadruga 1920. Više godina su, preko priloga, prikupljana sredstva za izgradnju ovog spomenika. Tek je 1932. izlivena figura od bronze i doneta u Beograd. Autor je bio Đorđe Jovanović. Spomenik je visok 7,25 metara, a otkriven je 7. novembra 1937. godine, povodom 150 godina od rođenja Vuka Karadžića. Po ovom spomeniku nazvana je podzemna železnička stanica "Vukov spomenik", a ceo kraj grada se naziva "kod Vuka".
