English: Squaring the circle In the 1990s redevelopment of this quarter of Birmingham's financial district, the former Colmore Circus became Colmore Square; motor traffic was banished and pedestrians, formerly relegated to draughty underpasses, regained freedom to roam above ground. The dominant landmark is the Wesleyan building, completed in 1992 to the design of Peter Hing and Jones on the site of the old Gaumont cinema. |
