Summary[edit]

Description St Roberts Church, Pannal, North Yorkshire, England. Small priest's door or sanctuary door in south wall of chancel. The door was once taller, but the interior floor was raised, so the bottom of the door was shortened to make room for steps, making the door smaller. This door has no handle on the outside, for safe sanctuary of refugees. It is believed to date from the 14th century.
