| Description |
English: Over the weekend of 13th & 14th May 2000, the Devon town of Newton Abbot held a Festival of Transport centred on the station and the Racecourse and connected by a vintage bus service. Two virtually new EWS locos were stabled in the old Heathfield bay at Newton Abbot, to be joined later by Flying Scotsman which came off an incoming railtour. Hertfordshire Railtours also ran a charter that day with 66 119 providing traction. There was also a Pathfinder tour with a pair of Fragonset Class 31s and then the "Newton Antelope" shuttles from Exeter - Newton Abbot - Heathfield and return, in the hands of Pannier Tank 9600. |
