Description
Français : Trône de Stanislas II de Pologne (Stanisław August Poniatowski) exposé à Versailles lors de l'exposition "Trônes en Majesté".

Ce trône vient de la Nouvelle salle du trône, construite par Stanislas dans le palais royal de Varsovie lorsqu'il devint roi en 1764
Le dossier est surmonté d'un cartouche aux armes du souverain, soutenu à gauche par une allégorie de la Justice et à droite par une allégorie de la Paix. Au pied de cette dernière, une grue symbolise la vigilance du souverain face aux menaces ennemies. Ce fut aussi le trône d'intronisation comme roi de Pologne, du tsar de Russie Nicolas 1er. Les blasons du royaume de Pologne et des Poniatowski avaient alors été remplacés par l'aigle bicéphale couronné.
