English: Stanley Dock lift bridge, Regent Road. Built in the 1930's, this is the only surviving example of a rolling bascule lift bridge in Liverpool. For information on bascule bridges see Wikipedia Bascule_bridge
The road is closed to traffic as the bridge is unsafe 842648, fortunately pedestrian access is still allowed. |
