YOKOSUKA, Japan (May 17, 2018) The guided-missile destroyer USS Curtis Wilbur (DDG 54) departs U.S. Fleet Activities (FLEACT) Yokosuka for Shimoda, Japan, for the annual Black Ship Festival celebrating the historic arrival of Commodore Perry to Japan. FLEACT Yokosuka provides, maintains and operates base facilities and services in support of the 7th Fleet's forward-deployed naval forces, 71 tenant commands and more than 27,000 military and civilian personnel.
