| Description |
English: Start of the Gap Road This is the northern end of the Gap Road which climbs to a height of 599m crossing the Brecon Beacons/Bannau Brycheiniog watershed at Bwlch ar y Fan - the notch in the skyline which can be seen in the distance. The route is popular with 4WD enthusiasts although it is subject to a traffic regulation order which restricts such use to certain times of the year. Connecting Brecon/Aberhonddu with Merthyr Tydfil/Merthyr Tudful it is reputed to be Roman in origin although the pass will have been used throughout history |
