Summary[edit]

Description
English: Stoke Climsland: South Kit Hill Mine Callington town is largely hidden beyond the mine dumps. It was worked for tin from 1856 to 1874 and from 1879 to 1882. In 1872 the mine was powered by a rotary 32-inch beam engine, which was used for pumping water and stamping ores. Its engine house was largely demolished in the 1980s. Rain water was collected in leats and fed to reservoirs upslope of the mine for use in the engine’s boilers and on the ore dressing floors.
