Description
Føroyskt: Brúgvin um Streymin varð latin upp fyri almennari ferðslu í 1973. Henda myndin er tikin úr Nesvík í mai 2013.
Dansk: Broen over sundet mellem Streymoy og Eysturoy på Færøerne blev bygget i 1973, og har siden da været den eneste kørevej mellem de to øer. Tidligere var der også færgeforbindelse mellem nogle af bygderne ved Skálafjørður og Tórshavn. Det forventes at en undersøisk tunnel bliver bygget indenfor de nærmeste år mellem de to øer, det blev besluttet i Lagtinget i 2014.
English: The Streymin Bridge was built in 1973 and has been the only road between the two islands. Earlier there was a ferry connection also, and in 2014 the Faroese parliament decided to make a subsea tunnel between these two islands which are the largest of the Faroes. This photo is taken from the small village Nesvík on Streymoy and shows the village of Oyrarbakki on Eysturoy.
