Description
English: Painting by John Lavery, oil on canvas entitled "Study for a Moorish dance", dated 1892. This painting was painted during the painter's Tangier period. Indeed, from 1891, the painter left for Tangier (Morocco), the opportunity for him to captivate the Moorish essence of Morocco through several paintings of anthropological value, as in this painting where the Moroccan Caftan specific to the cities of Tangier and Tetouan is painted in a bright yellow, a color found abundantly in the Tetouan and Tangier Caftan.
