Summary[edit]
DescriptionSun wall, Loughcrew.jpg |
English: Cairn T at Loughcrew is aligned to the rising sun at the equinoxes. The sun shines through the passage and illuminates the carvings on the back wall, progressing from top left left to bottom right. The light in this image was simulated with a torch.
The smaller satellite tombs on the hill also show alignments with sunrise and sunset on significant dates, though this may be an artefact of their reconstruction. |
