Description

Чаша и парные обелиски из настольного украшения Бретея. Рим, 1770-е. Луиджи Валадье. Агат, красный порфир, мрамор, бронза. Государственный Эрмитаж.

Чаша и парные обелиски входят в состав т.н. настольного украшения Бретея. Жак Лор ле Тоннелье, балье де Бретей (1723-1785) - коллекционер, для которого было выполнено это большое репрезентативное сюрту де табль. В 1777 году Бретей уступил его императрице Екатерине II. Прибор был выполнен в Риме по проекту и под руководством Луиджи Валадье. Императрица подарила его своему фавориту Ланскому, после чьей смерти оно вернулось в Эрмитаж.
