Summary[edit]

Description
Türkçe: Dikey bir tahliye cihazı ile suya doymuş yumuşak zeminden su sıkma şeması: 1 - alt zemin dolgusu; 2 - dikey drenajlar; 3 - filtrasyon katmanı; 4 - su geçirmez toprak
Русский: Схема отжатия воды из водонасыщенного слабого грунта устройством вертикальных дрен: 1 – насыпь земляного полотна; 2 – вертикальные дрены; 3 – фильтрационный слой; 4 – водоупорный грунт.
English: Scheme of squeezing water from water-saturated soft soil by a vertical drain device. In the construction of roads on peat and clay bases, when the consolidation of a weak layer lasts for several years, several methods are used to accelerate the consolidation of a water-saturated base.

1. The erection of a narrower but high embankment at first. Settling attenuation under increased load occurs in a shorter period of time. 2. Reducing the thickness of the compressible layer (partial peat), because when the compressible layer is reduced by 2 times, the compression time is reduced by 4 times.

3. Reducing the filtration path from the squeezed water with the help of vertical drains. In peat, under the future embankment, wells are drilled, which are filled with sand using a special technology. Water under the pressure of the embankment is squeezed out along the shortest path to the vertical drains and is squeezed up along them. Shortening the filtration path significantly reduces the compaction time.
