English: The Swarnim Vijay Abhiyan motorcycle expedition completed its third leg at Amritsar on 26 September 2021 after traversing through Goa, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Rajasthan and covering a distance of 4,700 km. The team was present for the sunset ceremony at the Attari border and visited Sainik School at Kapurthala, where they interacted with war veterans and the school alumni. Enroute to Amritsar, the team visited the red stone fort of Pokharan and Junagadh fort at Bikaner. At Bikaner, they interacted with the 20 Mahar Regiment and were briefed about the role of the unit in the 1965 and 1971wars in the Western Theatre. At Suratgarh, the team was hosted by Brigadier Sanjay Gautam, Commander, 6 (I) Armoured Brigade and the team interacted with officers of 20 Guards Regiment. Colonel Rahul Gupta, Commanding Officer, 3 Grenadiers, welcomed the team at Ferozepur. The crew paid homage to martyrs of 1965 and 1971 wars and, to Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru at the National Martyrs Memorial. The team was also present for the flag lowering ceremony by BSF at Hussainiwala border post. The riders also visited memorial of Company Quartermaster, Havaldar Abdul Hamid, PVC. Their onward journey from Ferozepur cantonment was flagged off by Major General Sandeep Singh, GOC 7, Infantry division. During the fourth and final leg that commenced from Amritsar on 27 September 2021, the expedition is scheduled to visit Khalsa Heritage Memorial at Anandpur Sahib, Rohtang Pass, Atal Tunnel, Military School at Chail, Western Command of the Indian Army at Chandimandir and Sainik School Kunjpura before culminating the 6,000km motorcycle expedition at National War Memorial at New Delhi on 03 October 2021.
