Nord SS.11, French wire-guided anti-tank missile

Summary[edit]

Description
English: The Swedish Navy test-fires newly acquired Nord Aviation SS.11 missiles, imported from France. Despite the SS.11 being an anti-tank missile, it was used by the Swedish Navy as an anti-ship missile, with the purpose of taking out Warsaw Pact landing crafts, making it the smallest anti-ship missile in the world. The SS.11 was designated as the Robot 53 by the Swedish Navy. The test-firing in the photo took place at Karlskrona Naval Base in 1958.
