Summary[edit]

Description

The swept path is the section of road outside of the tracks over which part of the tram will travel.

To ensure safety and avoid being touched (or hit) by a passing tram all obstructions - which includes road vehicles and pedestrians, including their feet and hands) - must remain outside of the swept path whilst the tram is in motion.
