Description
English: Swirling dust Coal dust has been a feature of north-east beaches for a century or more. Once the result of local pits dumping waste into the sea, now it's more likely to be spillage from ships importing the stuff through Tyne Dock or Blyth. Coals to Newcastle indeed.
