Description
English: Found along the shoreline of the South Saskatchewan River south of Saskatoon, SK

Symphyotrichum ericoides or Aster ericoides L. or Aster pansus (Blake) Many flowered aster of the thistle or composite family Similar identification of flowers in books:The many flowered aster is more prominent than similar flowers such as the the Willow Aster and the White prairie aster (A. falcatus Lindi) The prairie aster and Willow aster have a bluish purple tinge where the heath or many flowered aster is classified as a white aster and may have a pink tinge. The prairie aster has a bractlet at the base of the flower. The willow aster has small veins on the underside of the leaves. The rush aster has grasslike leaves at the base (Aster junciformus)
