| Description |
English: Tångstad hillfort (Borgberget – Kimstads socken, fornlämning 93) is one of the larger of Östergötlands hillforts and appear to have been permanently settled. The settlement is bound on west, north and east sides by an immense stone wall. The east are to be found the remainsof an outer wall in which was an entry to the fortification. To the south the hill slopes steeply down to lake Roxen. Archeological research in 1963 revealed the foundations of two houses. The house walls had been of wattle- and daub construction. Fragments of warpweights as well as potsherds chain mail and iron slag were found at the same time. |
