| Description |
English: Chronobiology of pituitary hormones: The secretion of thyrotropic hormone (thyrotropin, TSH) is subject to circadian and ultradian variation representing pulsatile release. The period of circadian rhythms is 24 hours, that of the ultradian pattern about 2.5 hours. The amplitude of the fast pulses varies around 0.6 mIU/L.

Deutsch: Chronobiologie hypophysärer Hormone: Die Freisetzung des schilddrüsenstimulierenden Hormons (thyreotropes Hormon, Thyreotropin oder TSH) unterliegt einer zirkadianen und einer ultradianen Variation, letztere entsprechend einer pulsatilen Ausschüttung. Die Phasenlänge (Periode) der zirkadianen Rhythmen liegt bei 24 Stunden, die des ultradianen Musters etwa bei 2,5 Stunden. Die Amplitude der schnellen Pulse varriert um 0,6 mIU/l.
