| Description |
English: Little sample of dry et compact plate of tartar crystals (Potassium bitartrate) with common impureties (coming from white wine during his maturation), called in french "tartre de vin" , "tartre des tonneaux", "tartre des barriques". Size : 10 cm x 10 cm x 12 cm X 4 cm with thickness around 1 cm. It's the more brilliant and cream color, sometimes yellowish, side lookink inside the barrel. Before the cleaning of the empty barrel, the winegrower breaks the dry and solid layer of tartar. Collection André Kloecklé, provenant du nettoyage annuel des grands fûts en bois de la maison Greiner-Schleret à Mittelwihr Haut-Rhin (68 Alsace). The opposite side, formerly bonded to the wood of the barrel, is seen in File:Tartre de vin face tonneau.jpg. Here it is a white wine as Gewurztraminer. Noticed the greyish hue, the more reddish or brownished color for "red wines" as "Pinot noir" |
