Description
עברית: תל קדום השוכן על חוף הים במערב העיר חיפה מול שכונת עין הים, ומדרום לשכונת בת גלים. שטחו של התל כשמונה דונם וגובה הנקודה הגבוהה ביותר בתל לפני התחלת החפירות היה 12.74 מטר מעל פני הים.‏ מקור השם של התל אינו ידוע, אולם מקובל לחשוב שמקור השם נגזר מעץ השקמה, או מעץ התות השחור (Morus nigra), שהובא לאזור מאירן ופריו נקרא Sycamina ביוונית.‏ בתאריך 26 באוקטובר 2008 הוכרזו שמורת טבע שקמונה וגן לאומי שקמונה. התל הוא חלק מהגן המשתרע על שטח של 73.3 דונם, ונמצא בתוך השמורה המשתרעת על שטח של 1,677 דונם.‏
