Description
Nederlands: Groningen Airport Eelde heette begin september terugkerende militairen van 13 Infanteriebataljon Regiment Stoottroepen Prins Bernhard op een originele manier welkom. De brandweer van het vliegveld creëerde een ereboog van water boven de kist die de uitgezonden troepen weer op Hollandse bodem bracht.



“Wij vonden het leuk hen op gepaste wijze te ontvangen na hun inzet in het buitenland”, aldus Airport Manager Onno de Jong over de natte ontvangst. De luchtmobielers vormden de afgelopen maanden in Mali de langeafstandsverkenningseenheid voor Minusma. Ze opereerden 4,5 maand in het Afrikaanse land en verzamelden inlichtingen voor de commandant van de VN-missie.
