Description
English: Tatra KT4DM car no 302 in Gotha's blue variant livery is looking most attractive - as were similar cars in the yellow livery - outside the terminus at Waltershausen. Behind the tram is the DR railway station which at the time supported an extremely busy Mitropa bar cum cafe, no doubt kept in business by the large workforce travelling to and from the IFA vehicle factory here. Six Tatra KT4DM trams, 301-6 were introduced in Gotha between 1981 and 1982. A further thirteen similar vehicles, 307-19 , were acquired from Erfurt in 1990.

More recent photographs of the area around Linie 6 can be seen here Waltershausen Bahnhof is now served by a roughly half-hourly shuttle service from Waltershausen Gleisdreieck, Linie 6. The early Tatra trams are now painted blue and yellow. The famous Kowalit rubber factory and that making the Multicar small commercial vehicle are located in Waltershausen. Is the charming tram shelter still there? The turning circle lay behind it.
