Čeština: Objekty rozptýleného disku (až do vzdálenosti 100 AU). Objekty Kuiperova pásu jsou zobrazeny šedě, rezonanční objekty nacházející se uvnitř rozptýleného disku zeleně.

Z pozice tělesa v diagramu vyplývá:

  • jeho velká poloosu a v astronomických jednotkách (AU) a oběžná doba v letech (vodorovná osa)
  • sklon jeho dráhy i ve stupních (svislá osa).

Velikost kruhu ilustruje relativní velikost tělesa v porovnání s ostatními. U několika velkých těles je tato velikost zobrazena na základě nejlepších současných odhadů. U ostatních pak reprezentuje absolutní hvězdnou velikost tělesa.

Výstřednost dráhy je zobrazena nepřímo pomocí vodorovné čáry táhnoucí se zleva (perihélium) doprava (afélium). Jinými slovy, tato čára ilustruje měnící se vzdálenost tělesa od Slunce. Tělesa obíhající po téměř kruhových dráhách mají tyto čáry krátké, zatímco tělesa na vysoce výstředních dráhách je mají dlouhé.

Svislé čáry vyznačují hlavní rezonance s Neptunem. Rezonance 1:1 ukazuje oběžnou dráhu Neptunu a trójanů a 2:3 oběžnou dráhu Pluta a plutin.

Diagram vychází u údajů v databázi Minor Planet Center (MPCORB), dostupných k 2008-10-05. Údaje o oběžných dráhách pochází z MPEC Circular 2008-S05 (2008-10-01) nebo z MPCORB. Odhady průměrů vychází z práce Stansberry et al. (viz reference v dotyčných heslech Wikipedie)

The position of an object represents

  • its orbit’s semi-major axis a in AU and the orbital period in years (horizontal axis)
  • its orbit’s inclination i in degrees (vertical axis).

The size of the circle illustrates the object’s size relative to others. For a few large objects, the diameter drawn represents the best current estimates. For all others, the circles represent the absolute magnitude of the object. The eccentricity of the orbit is shown indirectly by a segment extending from the left (perihelion) to the aphelion to the right. In other words, the segment illustrates the variations of the object's distance from the Sun. Objects with nearly circular orbits will show short segments while highly elliptical orbits will be represented by long segments.

Main resonances with Neptune are marked with vertical bars; 1:1 marks the position of Neptune’s orbit (and its Trojan asteroids), 2:3 marks the orbit of Pluto (and plutinos) etc.
