Summary[edit]
DescriptionThe 2010 Men's Club World Championship bronze medallists Paykan of Iran.jpg |
English: Iran’s Paykan completed a wonderful campaign at the 2010 FIVB Club World Championships in Doha claiming a bronze medal the guys from Teheran had targeted since they had traveled to Qatar some 10 days ago. The classification match against Argentina’s Drean Bolivar showed once more the physical, technical but – most of all – mental strength of the Iranian team that had the upper hand after coming back from two sets down (23-25, 23-25, 25-23, 25-20, 15-13). With 25 points Federico Pereyra was again the best scorer for the Argentineans assembled around 1988 Olympic bronze medalist Javier Weber while Seyed Mehdi Bazargarde excelled for the Iranian side with 18. This bronze medal confirms also the tremendous progresses registered by Iranian Volleyball, whose national teams have been more and more successful on the international arena in the past few years. |
