English: "The American Flag is lowered for the final time at RAF West Ruislip, United Kingdom. The base has been utilized by the U.S. Armed Forces since 1939 becoming a support base under Commander, U.S. Naval Activities, and United Kingdom in the late 1970’s. Located in West London, RAF West Ruislip provided support for over 3,000 military and civilian personnel and their dependents during the 80’s and 90’s. Under the transformation program for the European Theatre, RAF West Ruislip and Naval Facility Eastcote were returned to British Royal Air Force control on 28 September 2006.
