Nederlands: De kunstgalerij van Josephus Augustinus Brentano in zijn huis aan de Herengracht te Amsterdam. De verzamelaar Bretano en zijn gasten bekijken een lading de pas gearriveerde Italiaanse schilderijen. Tot de aanwezigen behoren de schilder Adriaan de Lelie, de heer Van Achttienhoven, Jan Kamphuysen en Jacques Kuyper. Verder ook kinderen en links een hond. De wanden van het huis hangen vol met schilderijen.
