| Description |
English: The paddlewheel at the Paddlewheel Restaurant on the 6th floor of The Bay department store in downtown Winnipeg. The restaurant opened in October 1954. In 2011, the Bay announced that the restaurant would close, and be renovated as a new restaurant, as part of a revitalization of all of the chain's restaurants across Canada. In response to a local outcry, the company later said it wouldn't get rid of the Paddlewheel, just spruce it up. In January 2013, however, the Bay announced that the restaurant would close after all, and it served its last meal on January 24. |
