Summary[edit]

Description
English: The Copeland Sound. The Copeland Sound separates the Copeland Islands from the north Down coast. It was once the favoured route to Belfast for shipping coming from the Mersey and points south. Ships are much bigger now and only the smallest pass through. One of the regulars (seen here) is the Ramsey Steamship Company's "Ben Ellan" outbound from Belfast. Mew Island lighthouse (commonly called "the Copelands lighthouse") is in the background. Local yachtsmen will explain the horrors of the currents.
