English: The Cross-Shaft Square shaft and base-member of a Saxon Cross, of the tall Northern type (Bewcastle Cross). Dates from about AD 700. Probably brought from Stancombe cross-roads in about 1820 to act as a boundary stone for Bisley Parish. |
