My take on Singapore's Heritage

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: In our everyday life, we will find ourselves rushing for the departing train or bus, hoping that we will make it just in time before the door closes. And as we breathe a sigh of relief while gasping for air, we look for the nearest seat. However, sometimes, the train would be too crowded for you to even stand comfortably, while sometimes, you get the whole cabin to yourself and your thoughts. For me, this was also a place where I laughed with my friends about what we did in school, a place where I got my much-needed rest from my all-nighters.

Unknowingly this has become part of my life and routine. So why do I think this represents Singapore's heritage? This is because I feel taking public transport shares some similarities with the life of Singaporeans. It reminded me of how we take the same train - Us growing up in Singapore. How we have shared experiences, be it good (having those small talks with hawker owners we call "Auntie or Uncle.) or bad (Always having the pressure to be the best in a competitive market). But it is also how, despite all our similarities, we will all be bound to take different routes. Some would go overseas to work, while others would dedicate their entire life and career to Singapore. What I want to say is; Even though we have different destinations and goals, Singapore will always be part of us no matter which "stop" we decide to alight. It will always be

My Singapore, Our Singapore.
