Summary[edit]

Description
English: The Lamb and Flag, St Giles The pub adjoins St John's College to the right and is named for St John the Baptist. It is owned by the college and was opened here in the late C17. On the other side of it are C18 gentlemen's town houses and the Judge's Lodging furthest left. The name comes from the Bible, John 1:29 "Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sins of the world." The Lamb is seen carrying a flag (usually of St George) and is the symbol of the Knights Templar along with the Worshipful Company of Merchant Taylors and St John's College, Oxford.
