The borders of the Crow reservation of May 7, 1868, as described in ”Treaty with the Crows, 1868”, including the later Battlefield of the Little Bighorn River

Summary[edit]

Description
English: First page of the ”Treaty with the Crows, 1868” with the borders of the Crow reservation framed with red. This territory in the heart of the old Crow country included the 1876 Battlefield of the Little Bighorn River. The Lakotas and Northern Cheyennes had camps here in 1876 because they had invaded the reservation and taken land from their traditional enemies in the Crow Nation the preceding years.
