Summary[edit]

Description
English: The Lord's Pavilion reflected in the Media Centre This photograph, taken looking up at the media centre, shows the distorted reflection of the Pavilion. The darker rectangle at the top is the window in the Test Match Special box, the only functioning (ie opening) window in the structure. The lighter rectangles are TV monitors that allow journalists to follow play either live or as broadcast on television. This photograph was taken on the second day (Friday)of the First Test between England and India, which ended in a tense draw. In 1999, the media centre won the prestigious Stirling Prize for architecture for its designer, Jan Kaplicky. Though it gives journalists a near perfect view, the lack of any outside sound means it is largely bereft of atmosphere, hence TMS's insistence on a window.
