Summary[edit]
| Description |
English: The Old Hill, Tettenhall This was the original coach road to Holyhead. It rose so steeply up onto the sandstone ridge at Tettenhall that passengers were sometimes required to dismount and walk. The road was bypassed when a deep cutting was constructed in the 1820's for the new turnpike.
The Rock House stands at the bottom of the hill and is a training centre for journalists of the Midlands News Association, owners of the local 'Express and Star','Shropshire Star' and other regional newspaper titles. |
