| Description |
English: The Old Mill House, Mill Lane, Sidlesham Quay A mill was first noted on the site in 1275 and another received regular visits from shipping in the 16th century. These were demolished in 1755 and replaced by a great tidal mill that had three wheels and eight stones and continued working until the 1870s when Pagham Harbour was dammed with the intention of turning it over to agricultural use. The mill went out of business and was demolished in 1919. This house is the only surviving building dating from late 18th century. The remnants of the old mill pond is to the left out of picture. |
