English: 27 February 2008. The Park pub which used to be on this corner of Park Lane.

It was next door Northumberland Park Railway Station (1) (2). The pub has since been demolished. Back in the 1980s when Zena and I lived in Shelbourne Road, on sunny days we'd occasionally go for a drink there and sit in the garden.

Two signs* mark the start of the Tottenham Hotspur Matchday Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ). The yellow box junction (on 27 February when I took this photo) did not appear to comply with the Department for Transport (DfT) Traffic Signs Manual **. Although I don't yet know if it has been repainted since.) _____________

• Are two signs required at the entrance to a Controlled Parking Zone?

The website Ticketfighter says they are required - with two exceptions. Here's the link. But I've not yet checked this myself.

Haringey does usually have a pair of signs on either side of the road at entrances to CPZs. Though it has not done this in at least one location - possibly because the carriageway is narrow enough to fall within one of the exceptions? If not legally required, it's obviously good practice, because a high vehicle could block your view of a single sign.

I've also heard doubts about whether or not the wording of the Spurs Matchday CPZ signs complies with DfT regulations. Perhaps the Spurs Supporters' Club will be looking at this !
