Summary[edit]

Description
English: The Rheast south of Druidale. This wet moorland has many hut circles and some medieval shieling sites on it, but it is very poor pasture for sheep. It was formerly dug for peat near Brandywell Cottage. The name of the area The Rheast means Waste or Moor land. Slieau Dhoo (Black Mountain) is in the background, and on the lower slopes trees were planted in the mid 1990s, which have been set out around known archaeological features.
