Summary[edit]
DescriptionThe River Slea - geograph.org.uk - 781961.jpg |
English: The River Slea Looking down stream from Papermill Lane Bridge. In 1794 the Slea was widened and deepened by the Slea Navigation Company to form a navigable waterway connecting Sleaford with the River Witham. This section was built from scatch to circumnavigate the old river's route through Haverholme Park. The navigation was abandoned in 1878, its demise hastened by the railways. |
