Summary[edit]
| Description |
English: The Memorial design includes all regiments of SA Special Forces since inception in 1972. Although 2 have since closed, the memorial is designed to commemorate all deceased Special Forces Operators per regiment of service. The parachute canopy was designed to frame the memorial altar and intentionally left in abstract to view the Special Forces Bush Church and Memorial Garden in the background. The abstract parachute canopy is made in flat bar stainless steel, the central altar and steps tiled in white marble and the regiment badges are sandblasted onto black granite. The Operators Laurel is a double sided custom 3D print molded in a basic alloy and centrally mounted atop the Special Forces Compass Rose. The Memorial was designed to face due West. |
