| Description |
English: The Titan Crane from below. For a view of the crane as a whole, see 1069892. Note the prominent column of square cross-section that is visible in front of the crane in that image; this houses a lift which allows visitors to reach the viewing platform at the top of the crane, and which is also used to return to ground level: 1112108.
In case of emergencies, another way of getting to ground level is by means of stairs housed in a separate column of round cross-section; that column appears in this photograph of the crane from below. The crane was never known as the "Titan Crane" when it was in use; the name seems to be a modern marketing ploy. |
